Hey Reader

IT'S TIME TO GET MOVING! INTRODUCING...

Uplift & Unwind Flow

I hope you won't mind a bonus email this week with some fun news...!

I am excited to share that I am launching a new online yoga class!

The 60-minute classes will be delivered via zoom and take place on Thursday evenings at 6pm UK time.

That's 7pm Central European Time, or 1pm for my friends in the US on Eastern Time.

(If you want to check the time conversion for your location, I recommend Timeanddate.com - their 'meeting planner' works really well)

ABOUT THE YOGA CLASS

This weekly class is a simple way to help you feel both uplifted and to unwind!

This class is about finding more energy, and more release. You will leave the class feeling like you have done a workout! But also calmer and more relaxed than when you started.

I truly believe that when you feel stress and tension built up in your body, you need to get it moving!

If you will permit me to sound a little woo woo for a moment... (I promise you there is science behind this!)

Emotions are energy in motion.

When your emotions are stuck, trapped in your body, they have to escape somewhere.

When you hold them in, they will manifest in....

Stress, pain, tension, brain fog, distraction, arguments, snapping back, having a short fuse....

The list could go on! In short, one of the best ways to feel better is to start moving more.

So, I created this weekly zoom class as a way to help you decompress and re-energise. Think: sweaty and serene!

I truly believe that your health is the key to your success. When you prioritise your health, everything else falls into place - you feel more time freedom, you have more energy and you can start to thrive in your career.

FAQs

Who are the classes for?

This class is called Uplift and Unwind and is open to anyone. If you are a busy person who struggles to fit exercise into your routine, booking onto a zoom class you can take from anywhere can be a great option! Booking on keeps you accountable.

It will be a strong workout, so if you are totally new to exercise or to yoga I would recommend you reach out to me to discuss a 1:1 option before you join the classes.

You are also welcome to join the class and build up to completing the full class. For instance in week one, you can do 30 minutes of the class, in week two, build up to 45 minutes, and so on. Go at your own pace & make it work for you!

What style of yoga do you teach?

The style of yoga that I teach is based in the LYT Method. This method was created by a physiotherapist, Lara Heimann, and is a style of functional movement practice. This means that we focus on movements that help your body to function better in your day to day life. Over time, you can expect to have improved strength, mobility, balance and fitness levels.

Should I join your weekly class or your 1:1 programme?

The weekly class is a simple way to support you with managing your stress levels and fitting more movement into your week.

The 1:1 programme is a transformational 12-week journey that kick starts your health and transforms your wellbeing so you can thrive in your career. On the 1:1 programme, you have a weekly 1:1 private zoom session with me, that is tailored to your fitness needs, as well as a pre-recorded workout programme and lifestyle coaching to move the needle on your career. If you want to find out more, click here.

Are the Uplift and Unwind classes recorded?

Yes! The classes are recorded.

If you choose to have your camera on during class (which is optional), it won't be visible on the recording.

The recording will be sent out via email to everyone who has booked on. So, if you don't have time to join live, you can receive the recording to complete the class in your own time.

Do I need to have my camera on?

You have the option to have your camera on or off. If you have the camera on, I can offer you feedback and modifications as needed, but it is entirely your choice if you feel comfortable to do so!

How are the classes delivered?

The classes are delivered via Zoom. The link will be sent out around 30 minutes before the class is due to begin. Check your inbox and simply click the link in the invite at the start of the class to join.

If you join on a tablet or mobile device, please make sure the Zoom app is downloaded beforehand. If joining from a desktop, you may be prompted to download and install the zoom software when you click on the link.

Do I need any equipment?

An exercise or yoga mat is recommended, but if you do not have one, you can place a towel down to keep you and your floor clean. If you practice on a hardwood floor, please take care to ensure the mat or towel does not slip.

I have an injury or other health condition; will I be able to join?

Please seek advice from GP regarding your own specific health conditions and suitability to exercise. If you are cleared to do so by your GP, but have specific concerns or questions, please drop me an email at hello@melaniethomasyoga.com and I will be happy to help.

Hey Reader It's rare that I write a newsletter that is only going to be helpful for half of you... But in this case, I think there will be enough of you that can relate, that you need to hear what I am saying. Ask yourself: Is your fitness routine leaving you feeling exhausted rather than energized? You might be tired and wired. For many people experiencing burnout, it feels impossible to find time to exercise. But for others, exercise becomes addictive. That feeling you get when you complete...

Hey Reader Ever feel like your screens have become a digital leash, tethering you to a restless world? I certainly have a love-hate relationship with the digital world, and with my break from content creation the past few weeks have been an ideal time for me to re-establish some boundaries with my devices. Personally? I'm ok with non-addictive screen time. I never feel addicted to sending emails, to getting my work done on my computer, etc. But when it comes to social media, I need better...

Hey Reader You might have noticed that it has been a couple of weeks since I last wrote a newsletter. A LOT has happened my side and I decided to take a short break from digital content creation. I could feel myself getting burnt out. Something had to give... I teach my clients to recognise the signs of burn out and how to prioritise their time, and so I felt it was time to truly practice what I preach. Creating content is a way that I connect and build community, but I will always prioritise...
